Apparently, ESPN has some big plans for NASCAR coverage this season, using HD to cover every race, including in-car cameras, pit crew, blimp and other angles.
Cool.
But looking at the off-course driving habits of racers -
Public intoxication for NASCAR's Martin Truex, Jr.... DUIs for Scott Wimmer, Kurt Busch... an-almost DUI for their Chairman, Brian France... current Nextel Cup Champ Jimmie Johnson's accident after an afternoon of "golfing"... (not to mention Indy racer Al Unser, Jr. recently charged with a DUI accident)...
- and ESPN might want to think about something a l'il less high tech and a bit more respectful of the sport's proud origins. Ya know, a "where it was is where it's headed" kinda thing.
Maybe The Daytona Beach .08?
