Please excuse me in this post, for it is hard to type through the tears, but the beloved Barbaro is dead.
That's right, dead.
It's so hard to believe, I know, but it's true.

Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro was euthanized Monday morning after complications from his breakdown at the Preakness last May.I'm just too distraught to write any more. Feel free to leave your expressions of grief in the comments.
"We just reached a point where it was going to be difficult for him to go on without pain," co-owner Roy Jackson said. "It was the right decision, it was the right thing to do. We said all along if there was a situation where it would become more difficult for him then it would be time."
