Baseball Tonight 8-26-06

What a wonderful day yesterday was. I went 0-3 in my picks, and the White Sox blew an early 3-0 lead to the Twins and lost 5-4. I'm in such a good mood right now.

  • Los Angeles Angels (68-61 2nd AL West Ervin Santana 12-6 4.28) vs. New York Yankees (76-51 1st AL East Cory Lidle 10-9 4.45)-Ervin Santana has never lost to the Yankees in his long, illustrious two-year career. He's 3-0 with a 2.65 ERA against the Yankees. Since coming to New York, Cory Lidle hasn't given up more than 3 runs. I'm taking the Angels. (FOX 4:05PM Est.)
  • Cleveland Indians (59-68 4th AL Central Jake Westbrook 10-8 4.18) vs. Detroit Tigers (81-48 1st AL Central Justin Verlander 15-6 3.05)-The Indians beat the Tigers last night and of course, as happens everytime the Tigers lose, the Sox have to lose too. Jake Westbrook has been roughed up by the Tigers throughout his career, and I think he will again tonight. Taking Detroit. (7:05PM Est.)
  • Arizona Diamondbacks (63-65 3rd NL West Miguel Batista 10-5 4.52) vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (66-62 1st NL West Derek Lowe 11-8 3.84)-Apparently the Dodgers have to do things in streaks. They've lost 4 in a row, and their divisional lead is back to a single game over San Diego. Luckily for them, I'm back to save their asses. Take the Dodgers. (9:40PM Est.)

Yesterday: 0-3 (L-Mets Cubs Reds)

Season: 59-52
