The Basketball Diaries - Dallas Owned February

Dallas Mavericks 91 Minnesota Timberwolves 65

Man, the Mavericks are 48-9, and they started the season 0-4. On Tuesday night they held the Timberwolves to only 65 points. It's the lowest point total the Mavs have ever held an opponent to. The win also gave Dallas its first undefeated month in franchise history. Dirk had 23 and 14, while Josh Howard shook off his sprained ankle and dropped in another 17 points for Dallas.

Phoenix Suns 103 Indiana Pacers 92

The Suns aren't half bad either, and last night they blew up in the fourth quarter to get a win in Indy. Steve Nash had 25 points and 11 assists. The Suns actually trailed by 18 in the third quarter before holding the Pacers to 13 points in the final 15 minutes. That's right. The Suns played defense. "Really, we just finally woke up," Nash said. "We were sleepwalking and couldn't make any shots for a long stretch. We finally picked up our defense and made some shots."

New Jersey Nets 113 Washington Wizards 101

Well, it seems like Jason Kidd and Vince Carter have decided that if they're stuck in Jersey the rest of the season, they might as well try to win. The Nets won their third straight game thanks to 26 points and 9 assists from Kidd, and 27 points from Vince Carter. New Jersey also set a franchise mark by hitting 16 three-pointers. "It was more or less beat us from the outside," Kidd said when asked about the Wizards' defense. "We kind of fell in the trap in the first half but we were wide open."
