Detroit Pistons 95 Chicago Bulls 93
I'm trying to do everything in my power to wipe this game from the memory banks, people. It was Ben Wallace's first game back in Detroit as a member of the Bulls, and El Toros were able to build a 16-point lead in the third quarter. Then they fell apart. Detroit stormed back to take the lead, but the Bulls still kept themselves in it. Ben Gordon tied the game at 93 with 15 seconds left, and after Big Shot Billups missed a jumper to win the game, Chris Webber shoved P.J. Brown out of the way to get a tip in that gave Detroit the lead with 2.2 seconds left. Now, I know I'm bitter, and I know that refs are hesitant to use their whistle when the games on the line. But shoving a player out of the way, not bumping, not boxing out, shoving a guy a good 4 feet away is probably a foul. I haven't memorized the NBA rule book or anything, but I think it's in there.
Miami Heat 86 Cleveland Cavaliers 81
You'd think that without Dwyane Wade in the lineup, the Cavaliers would have a pretty easy time with the Heat on Sunday, even if the game was in Miami. You know what you didn't count on when making that assumption? Those ugly ass creamsicle jerseys the Cavs wore. They wore them at home against the Bulls on Thursday, and lost. They wore em on Sunday in Miami, and lost. The basketball Gods are not going to let them win while wearing such an affront to our vision. There's throwback, and then there's throw up. The Cavs were wearing the latter this week.
Phoenix Suns 115 Atlanta Hawks 106
The Atlanta Hawks may have been able to steal a win in Phoenix a few weeks ago, but the Suns didn't have Steve Nash then. Sunday, they did. Of course, the Suns probably wouldn't have needed their MVP because Amare Stoudemire went off. Stoudemire scored 43 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead the Suns. He even found time to introduce Josh Smith to his man bits during the game. Josh Smith couldn't be reached for comment afterward, but he had that look of love in his eye in the locker room.
