Stephen Jackson Could Be Returning to Indiana

Though it won't be to play for the Pacers again.

He'd be returning to Indiana to do jail time.

Jackson was ruled to have violated his probation after firing a gun outside a strip club back in October.

Jackson was serving probation after pleading no contest to misdemeanor assault and battery charges in September 2005 for his role in a 2004 brawl between Indiana Pacers players and fans at The Palace of Auburn Hills. He is charged in Indiana with criminal recklessness, which is a felony, and misdemeanor counts of battery and disorderly conduct.

Jackson, who was traded to Golden State earlier this month, faces jail time. But his lawyer, James Burdick, said he believes District Court Judge Julie Nicholson will make a sentencing determination based on the outcome of the Indiana case.
The trial could start as soon as February. Judge Nicholson also said she felt that Ron Artest should be released from his probation. Why she felt the need to announce that at Jackson's hearing, I don't know. You know how women are. (If you don't, they're crazy.)

Man, it's a slooooow news day. Damn this week between the conference championships and the Super Bowl.
