Michael Irvin in Trouble?

It's nothing new when Michael Irvin is in trouble with the law, but now he may be in hot water at ESPN. Foul Balls has never been a big fan of Irvin and have prayed for ESPN to get rid of him for awhile now, so maybe we're just grasping at straws but...

Yesterday on the Dan Patrick Show, Irvin was being interviewed in part of his weekly segment on the show when the subject of Cowboys QB Tony Romo came up.
Irvin had some interesting theories as to why Romo has played so well:

“… [there must be] some brothers in that line somewhere … [laughs to himself] somewhere there are some brothers … I don’t know who saw what where …. [maybe] his great, great, great, great Grandma ran over in the hood or something went down … [laughter]”

Dan Patrick then interrupted, sensing that the interview was on the verge of entering a bad area, and asked Irvin if that was the "only way to be a great athlete?"
“No, that’s the only way … but it’s certainly one way … [maybe his] great, great, great, great Grandma pulled one of them studs up outta the barn [and said] ‘come here for a second’ … back in the day …[more sinister laughter]”

You get the sense his colleagues are starting to get sick of him, too. First there was the incident earlier this season when Tom Jackson asked Irvin if he was retarded, Steve Young questioned his intelligence on air, and then on Monday Night's pregame show, Chris Berman took a veiled shot at Irvin.

It was about a year ago that Irvin was pulled over in Dallas and police found a pipe (not the kind that blows bubbles, either) in his car. After waxing poetic about the Cowboys, Berman looked at Irvin and said, "Now don't go getting too high, Mike."

We aren't sure what ESPN is going to do with Irvin, but Michael Richards thinks he should be ashamed of himself.
