The Basketball Diaries - It's Finally Over

San Antonio Spurs 83 Cleveland Cavaliers 82

And with that, one of the worst NBA Finals I've ever watched has finally ended. The Spurs have won the title for the third time in five years, and fourth time in the last nine. In my opinion, this officially makes San Antonio a dynasty, a boring dynasty, but a dynasty none the less. Tony Parker scored 24 points to secure his NBA Finals MVP, the first Spur to win one not named Tim Duncan. Speaking of Duncan, he finished with only 12 points but had 15 rebounds. I think the whole series could really be described by the closing minutes of this game. The Spurs had a three point lead with four minutes to go, and held onto the ball for 1:30 of game time. They kept missing shots and getting offensive rebounds until Fabricio Oberto finally made a shot, and got fouled to make it 72-66. The whole sequence basically showed that no matter how well the Cavs played, they couldn't stop San Antonio. Whether that shows how bad Cleveland is, or how good San Antonio is, I'm not exactly sure. The only thing that matters is that the Spurs were the ones holding the trophy when it ended.

The Basketball Diaries - The Most Exciting Series, Ever!

San Antonio Spurs 75 Cleveland Cavaliers 72

I've always maintained that there's nothing more exciting in basketball than blown layup after blown layup. Yeah, it may have been close in the end, but it was ugly. The Spurs and Cavs combined to tie for the second lowest scoring game in NBA Finals history on Tuesday night as San Antonio just about finished Cleveland. Tony Parker had 17 points, Tim Duncan only had 14, and Manu Ginobili only had 3, yet the Spurs still won. LeBron finished with 25 and a legitimate beef. He was fouled by Bruce Bowen on that last shot, and he should have been given three free throws. So Cleveland fans have a right to bitch this morning, but if LeBron couldn't make layups at the end, why should we think he'd have hit all three free throws?

The Basketball Diaries - Spurs Dominate

San Antonio Spurs 103 Cleveland Cavaliers 92

Don't let that score fool you, except for a few minutes in the 4th quarter when the Cavs made a run, this game was a blowout. San Antonio jumped ahead early, and just kept building their lead. The Cavs came up with a new philosophy against Tony Parker, and it worked so well he ended up with 30 points. Tim Duncan had 23 points, and Manu Ginobili had 25. If there's any good news for Cleveland, it is the fact they showed some life in the final quarter. They outscored San Antonio 30-14, but of course it only got them within eleven. Most people will say they're done, but they were down 2-0 to Detroit too. The difference is that even though they lost the first two against Detroit as well, at least they were competitive in those games. They haven't been in this series.

The Basketball Diaries - The Spurs Care Not For Your Storylines

San Antonio Spurs 85 Cleveland Cavaliers 76

Considering all the waiting we had to do, I was hoping for a little bit more than 14 points. I'm sure the NBA was as well. Unfortunately, the Spurs do not care about me, or the NBA. They only care about winning, and that's what they did last night. Maybe they had a week off, but I couldn't really tell by watching them play. Tim Duncan had 24 and 13, while Tony Parker scored 27 points with 7 assists. The Spurs also held LeBron to 4-of-16 shooting, and only the aforementioned 14 points. "We did a very good job on LeBron, not giving him the lanes that he's used to," Duncan said. "It takes five guys understanding what we're doing, understanding a game plan and sticking with it."

The Basketball Diaries - Spurs Win The West

San Antonio Spurs 109 Utah Jazz 84

For the third time in the last five seasons the San Antonio Spurs will be playing in the NBA Finals. They came out and finished off the Jazz in the first twelve minutes, outscoring them 34-15. "Our first quarter was unbelievable," said Tony Parker. "I can't remember, since I've been with the Spurs, shooting the ball like that. Our offense was great, our defense was great. ... You can't ask for a better start." The Jazz couldn't get anything going as Deron Williams played with a sprained ankle, and Derek Fisher didn't show up until halftime after flying in from New York to be with his daughter. Tim Duncan and Tony Parker both had 21 points in limited minutes, and now the Spurs will sit around for a week waiting for the winner of the Pistons and Cavs.

Tony Parker Is Frustrated

Tony Parker had a rough night in San Antonio's Game 2 loss to the Suns on Tuesday night. He followed up his 31 point performance in Game 1 with 13 points on a 5-for-14 shooting night.

Some will tell you it's because of the defense the Suns played on him that caused him to miss so many shots.

They would be wrong. No, Tony had a bad night because he's frustrated. Sexually frustrated.

I know what you're thinking. "How can Tony be sexually frustrated? He's about to marry Eva Longoria! All she does is talk about their sex life in public."

That's true, but Eva isn't allowing Tony any action before the wedding.

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria has imposed a 'no-sex' policy on her fiance Tony Parker until the couple exchange vows in July.

The actress implemented the ban to help basketball star Tony reach the NBA play-offs with the San Antonio Spurs.

She told US chat show host Jimmy Kimmel: "Luckily, we're getting married after the play-offs and then we need to consummate the marriage. I scheduled it that way."
Apparently Eva doesn't understand the concept of marriage. You aren't supposed to stop having sex until after you get married. Which explains why I'm not married. Well, that and all those restraining orders.

Maybe she thinks me hiding in her shower while watching her brush her teeth is creepy, but I think it's romantic.

Also, if I'm Steve Nash I'd be really scared of trying to post up on Tony right now. He might find himself a little surprise.

Parlez Vous Snoop Chien?

Nothing like a Tony Parker hip hop video in French to get you in the mood for... anything else.

Says a lot about France that this is #2 on the charts.
