Tyrus Thomas Sent Home From Practice With "Flu-Like Symptoms"

The Bulls return home tonight to take on the Milwaukee Bucks, who won't have Michael Redd, so things are setting up rather nicely for the boys to get to 2-2 on the season.  Unfortunately, we don't know if they'll have Tyrus Thomas available for the game.

Thomas was sent home from the team's Tuesday morning shootaround with flu like symptoms, and now his status for tonight's game is in doubt.  Though, to be honest, that's not the only thing in doubt related to this story.

Coach Vinny Del Negro said Thomas is expected to show up for Tuesday night's home game against the Bucks, at which time a determination will be made on his availability. Taj Gibson will start in Thomas' place should he not play.
Now while it's entirely possible that Tyrus does have the flu, I'm in a pot-stirring mood right now, so I'm just going to speculate wildly without any tangible proof.  Yes, I'm getting back to my blogging roots.

Just know that Thomas wasn't happy that Vinny Del Negro sat him down for the entire fourth quarter in the Bulls' loss to Miami on Sunday, and that the deadline for the Bulls to sign him to a contract extension came and went on Monday.

Oh, and then there was Tyrus taking exception to Del Negro singling him out when talking about the team's defense.

So while I wouldn't be surprised to find out Thomas has the flu, I wouldn't be shocked to find out there's something else going on here either.

Ballhype: hype it up!
