Jimmy Clausen Involved In a Bar Fight?

On the last two Senior Days in South Bend the Fighting Irish have lost games to Syracuse (a school that's 9-26 over the last three years) and just recently Connecticut (a team that just joined Division I in 2002).  Needless to say, the losses are two black eyes for the program and Charlie Weis' tenure running the ship into the ground at Notre Dame.

Well it seems his quarterback wants to match that feat.  There's a report from David Kaplan that Clausen was involved in a fight in a South Bend bar on early Sunday morning following the Irish's loss against the Huskies, and he's got a couple of shiners to show for it.

From David Kaplan, WGN-AM 720: Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen was involved in a fight outside a South Bend bar early Sunday morning, according to a report Monday evening by WGN-AM's David Kaplan.

According to Kaplan, Clausen has two black eyes from the altercation at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday. The incident comes on the heels of the Irish's overtime loss to Connecticut, their fifth of the season, leaving Notre Dame at 6-5.
I know what you're thinking, and no, it wasn't me.  I have no problem with Jimmy.

Just Charlie.

I would punch that man for hours upon hours, until all the skin on my knuckles had worn off and there was bone peeking through to the surface.  Then I would kick him in the head -- I'm assuming he's on the ground at this point -- until my ankles had swollen to the size of grapefruits.

After that I would climb atop the nearest fire hydrant and drop a Macho Man-esque flying elbow onto his head, and pin him.  But even after the ref counted to three and the match was over, I would then pull out a steel chair and beat him over the head with it.

For you see, I have anger issues and no regard for human life.

  1. I was there and it was just a typical bar fight. Clausen fought a student. Both guys were drunk.

My cousin plays for UConn and I was in town for the game.

I actually have more respect for Clausen now. He stuck up for himself and actually fought the guy. He had enough people with him that could have done his dirty work, but he fought the guy on his own.

I still think you guys will beat Stanford. UConn is actually pretty good. Losing to them and Navy (in close games) is no reason to fire your coach. Besides, Weis only coaches the offense and you have a good offense. Just get a new DC and you'll be a top 25 team.
