The Illini went to Cincinnati this week to take on a Bearcats team that was 10-0 and still alive in the national title hunt. The Illini, on the other hand, are just playing out the string in what has been another disappointing season in Champaign. Maybe they had a slight glimmer of hope that they could pull off the upset since Cincinnati quarterback Tony Pike was making his first start since injuring his non-throwing shoulder earlier this season.
Pike dashed all those hopes rather quickly....
