Have The Hawks Given Hossa A 12-Year Deal?

It seems that the Marian Hossa deal is complete, and that he's going to be a Blackhawk. The team still hasn't said anything, nor is it being reported, but apparently it's a 12-year deal (!?) worth $5.2 million a year according to Pierre LeBrun. (Darren Dreger is also saying it's done.)

In order to give Hossa that much money the Hawks have to shed some payroll, and with the rumors being that their close to re-signing Nikolai Khabibulin, that means the rumors that the Hawks are close to dealing Cristobal Huet seem to carry some weight.

Obviously more on this as I hear it.

UPDATE: Newsday is now reporting that the deal is done, and so is Comcast Sports Net. According to The Fourth Period the deal is indeed for 12 years and $62 million meaning Hossa will be 42 when the deal expires. Jesus.

UPDATE#2: ESPN has now confirmed both aspects of the deal, so I guess it has to be true now.

Ballhype: hype it up!
