Chicago Cubs 6 Milwaukee Brewers 3
Not wanting the Sox to bask in all the glory for finally being able to win this season, the Cubs went ahead and got themselves a victory as well. Ryan Dempster made his first start since 2005, and got past a shaky first inning to go six strong innings. "Part of me was nervous.. ... A couple of the pitches I turned away and stuff like that," Dempster said. "He's come a long way, battled through a lot of things to be where he was 10 years ago to be where he is now. It's pretty remarkable what he's done to bounce back." Aramis Ramirez homered, Alfonso Soriano drove in two runs from the lead-off spot, and Kerry Wood's arm lasted long enough for him to record the first save of his career.
