Let me preface this post by saying I'm a huge college football fan. I love it. If it weren't for my fantasy football leagues, I would probably go on record as saying that I like college football better than the NFL.On a Saturday afternoon in the fall, I would have absolutely no problem sitting in my chair and watching college football all day. I'm not the only one who feels this way I'm sure, but ESPN is taking that kind of dedication by some fans, and going a bit too far.
The idea, to be announced Wednesday, is to give ESPN's first college football game this season — Louisiana State at Mississippi State on Aug. 30 — a whopping 25-hour lead-in. Rece Davis, saying he'll play "the Jerry Lewis role" in hosting the marathon: "I might have to wear a tux. … And at the end, maybe we'll dim the lights and I'll loosen my tie and have more product in my hair than usual."Twenty five hours.....of pregame coverage. Jesus Christ, ESPN, can't you come up with some other crappy Who's Now-type content to fill the void?
