Where we await the trade deadline with baited breath.
- On Deck: Those Creeping Yankees - Do you think they're getting nervous in Boston yet? The Yankees have won six in a row and are now within 6.5 games of the Red Sox in the AL East. There's also the fact that Alex Rodriguez is only one home run shy of 500 in his career. The first candidate to give it up to A-Rod is Jorge De La Rosa who's 7-10 with a 5.61 ERA this season. The Royals had been playing pretty well, winning four of their last five to catch the White Sox, before the Yankees came to town and steamrolled them in the first three games of this series. Now they'll be trying to deny the Yankees a seventh straight win and four game sweep. Kei Igawa will start for the Yankees, he's 2-2 with a 6.67 ERA and hasn't won a game as a starter in three months. Since picking up a win in relief at the end of April, Igawa is 0-2 with an 8.13 ERA in seven starts.
- J.J. Putz Should Put Down The Scissors - Before last night's game against the Rangers, one in which the Mariners lost their sixth straight, J.J. Putz and some teammates had an idea to get the Mariners back in the win column. Haircuts for everybody! Putz, Adrian Beltre, and Richie Sexson took turns cutting the hair of everybody on the team and even the coaches. Well, Richie did for a while, but he broke his leg while trimming Raul Ibanez's hair. At least I think he did, I'm sure some Mariners fans wish he had.
- Major League Mongering: The Twins Should Trade Torii Hunter - Should the Twins be buyers or sellers? Realistically, when you look at the options available to the Twins as far as bringing a player in, who's going to be that guy that helps push them to the top? Dmitri Young? Mike Piazza? Ty Wiggington!? Those aren't exactly the types of guys that will win you a division title. So I think the Twins should try and move some players, most specifically Torii Hunter. Hunter says he wants to stay in Minnesota for the rest of his career, but he also says he wants the best deal for himself. That will not be in Minnesota.
