Where baseball blogging is always on
- On Deck: Erik Bedard Is On Fire-Now is not the time when the Seattle Mariners want to see Erik Bedard on the pitcher's mound. No team should want to see him right now. Bedard hasn't allowed a run in 16 innings, including 22 strikeouts. He's 4-0 with in his last five starts, and has an ERA of 2.19 in his last fourteen. He's hoping his recent run will continue tonight, but his career numbers against Seattle aren't as nice. He's 1-3 with a 5.46 ERA in five career starts. The Mariners will counter with Jarrod Washburn, who had a nice little streak of his own going before losing to the Tigers last Friday. In his career, he's 6-2 with a 3.88 ERA against Baltimore.
- Jose Guillen Likes Seattle-Jose Guillen has always been a talented baseball player. He's also always been a bit of a distraction thanks to his temper. It's a temper that's seen him feud with about 10 teams, I lost count on who he hates, most especially Mike Scioscia and the Angels. It's his less than cheery disposition that's caused him to play for eight different teams in his 10 seasons
- Dontrelle Willis Would Like an Apology-At this point in time you're probably all well aware that Scott Olsen loves to fight people anytime something goes wrong. I heard he once punched a kid at a convenience store after he bought the last 3 Musketeers bar out from under him.* I'm not sure if he apologized to the kid afterward, but Dontrelle Willis would like Olsen to apologize to his teammates.
- The President Loves Joel Zumaya-During a recent interview with ESPN's Karl Ravech, President George Bush talked about baseball. During that interview he was asked for his thoughts on the World Series, and the President said he believed in the Tigers, and even mentioned Joel Zumaya by name, sort of. This pleased Zumaya.
