Rob Mackowiak Has Been Traded

Well it's not Jermaine Dye or Jose Contreras, but the White Sox have made a trade this afternoon.

I hope Rob Mackowiak enjoyed his season and a half back home in Chicago with the White Sox, because he won't be playing for them again. He'll now be calling San Diego home.

The Padres, continuing the makeover of their bench, are close to acquiring outfielder Rob Mackowiak from the White Sox for a minor leaguer, according to major-league sources.
As for who the minor leaguer is, I don't know yet. I can't find anything anywhere that lists who it is, but I'm sure he'll bring us another World Series title!

As for Mackowiak's tenure here, it was filled with a whole lot of misplayed balls in the outfield. While technically it's unfair for all of us to berate the guy when you consider he's not a natural outfielder, it's not exactly the kind of move that's going to stir deep feelings of loss inside me either.

Ballhype: hype it up!
