Michael Barrett Will Now Be Fighting Padres Pitchers

We all kind of knew it was coming, so the news that the Cubs have traded Michael Barrett to the Padres is hardly a surprise.

Controversial Chicago Cubs catcher Michael Barrett was traded to the San Diego Padres on Wednesday, sources told ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney.

In return the Cubs will receive Padres backup catcher Rob Bowen and minor league outfielder Kyler Burke, who was San Diego's first-round compensation pick in last year's first-year player draft, Olney reports. The Padres will get cash considerations from the Cubs.

From punching A.J. Pierzynski, to getting the crap beat out of him by Carlos Zambrano, Barrett's tenure in Chicago was an entertaining one to say the least. I've no idea if he and Zambrano will share a good cry this morning before he leaves.
