Today at The Fanhouse
Where the baseball flows like wine.
- Paul Konerko Would Like Everyone To Shut Up-"They can do what they want to do,'' Konerko said. ''It's up to them. Personally, I stay away from that as much as I can because it's kind of a lose-lose for a player. There's not much to gain. But I can't tell teammates to do it or not to do it.'' Konerko has a very good point, but I can assure you that nobody will ever keep A.J. off of the radio. Pierzynski likes to talk, and radio stations love to have him talk because of what he might say. Not to mention that people who listen to sports radio want to hear from the players.
- Off With Their Heads!-Jim Reeves writes for the Star-Telegram, and today he's written a column that he's sure will help solve the problems of the Texas Rangers. If you thought the idea of trading Mark Teixeira was crazy, Reeves takes it about 27 steps further.
- The Twins Need To Re-Evaluate-Think about it. What are the Twins known for doing best? Producing young talent. Nothing has changed in Minnesota either. They have a host of young arms that they could plant into the starting rotation. Kevin Slowey has posted a 1.76 ERA down in Triple-A, and Glen Perkins has been pretty solid coming out of the Twins bullpen. Perkins will be out for a couple of weeks with a muscle strain, but when he comes off the disabled list there's no reason that he and Slowey shouldn't be in the starting rotation.
