Et Tu, Alex Brown?
In what's the latest development in a fantastic offseason for the Chicago Bears, it seems that Alex Brown has asked to be traded.
Brown appeared on Sirius NFL Radio on Wednesday and said he'd asked the Bears to look into trading him.
"We're just trying to see what's out there," Brown said. "That's what we're trying to do. It's not the Bears. They don't want to get rid of me. It's just that I want to see what else is out there.
"If it was up to me I'd get a new contract here and play the rest of my career here. I totally understand some of the things the Bears are saying. We're handling this in a real low-key fashion and that's the way we want to keep it."
Hey Alex, this may come as a surprise to you, but it is up to you. You see, you are the player. If you want to stay in Chicago for the rest of your career, asking to be traded is probably not the smartest way to go about it. It's like telling your girlfriend she's the one, and you want to marry her, but you'd like to go sleep with a few other girls first. You know, just to see what's out there.
As far as the Bears are concerned they have absolutely no interest in dealing Brown, and he admitted as much in the interview. He says that the Bears told him,
"No way. We love you. We don't want to get rid of you."
Maybe they can trade Alex Brown for Lance Briggs, and then everybody will be happy! Well, Lance Briggs won't be happy, but fuck him.

Ummm... This guy is looking around? Understandable cause he's been a pro bowl starter every year he has been here and lead the NFL in sacks... Oh wait, he has only been an alternate and was outplayed by a rookie last year.
These "stars" are ridiculous...
Your last two sentences are both absolutely excellent and horrible all at once. This offseason truly has been miserable.
Stupid Mariotti column coming in 5, 4, 3. . .
At least we have 4 defensive ends who expect major minutes. If only Wale was the one asking for a trade, I am sure Angelo would be more than happy to get rid of that salary
