Elijah Dukes Wants To Kill His Wife

Now this is refreshing. An athlete threatening to kill somebody, and he doesn't play football.

Tampa Bay Devil Rays outfielder Elijah Dukes apparently is not a big fan of his wife.

In late April, Tampa Bay Devil Rays outfielder Elijah Dukes barged into his wife's middle school classroom at lunchtime.

He was so irate that she ran to get the principal and a deputy, who banned Dukes from the property, records show.

His wife, who said she fears for her life, sought a restraining order and told the court it was the latest in a string of outbursts by the 22-year-old rookie player.

As if that weren't enough, Dukes' wife NiShea Gilbert also told a court last Thursday that Dukes had threatened to kill her, and she has the voicemail to prove it.

The message on the voicemail was less than loving, and features a lot of naughty words that I would never say.

"Hey, dawg. It's on, dawg. You dead, dawg. I ain't even bullshitting. Your kids too, dawg. It don't even matter to me who is in the car with you. Nigga, all I know is, nigga, when I see your motherfucking ass riding, dawg, it's on. As a matter of fact, I'm coming to your motherfucking house."

Dukes sounds like a helluva guy.

I'm hoping that the Devil Rays will see past his promise, he leads all American League rookies this season with 8 home runs, and rid themselves of this douchebag. They've already got another jackass on the roster in Delmon Young who's best known for throwing a bat at an umpire.
