Today at the Fanhouse
It's tough to write about baseball after everything that happened yesterday.
- The Angels Are Swept In Boston, But Vlad Should Be Fine-The Angels have now lost four straight, and five of their last six. The factor that all these losses have in common is that they are away from Anaheim. In their seven games at home the Angels have allowed only 2.1 runs per game while going 5-2. Since leaving the west coast the Halos have allowed 6.2 runs a game and are 1-5.
- Pudge Had A Decent Night-Pudge went 2-for-5 with a grand slam and 6 RBI. Monday night's performance was just another in a career full of big games against the Royals. In 154 career games against KC, Rodriguez is sporting a .359 average with 21 home runs and 101 RBI.
- On Deck: All Weavers, All The Time-Speaking of the Amazing Weaver Brothers, the elder starts for Seattle against the Twins on Tuesday night. It's only Jeff's second start of the season and he comes in with a lovely ERA of 31.50. He should probably try and bring that down if he'd like to keep his job.
- David Delucci Donated $100,000 To Katrina Relief Efforts-"All game I'm thinking, 'I've got to do something,'" Dellucci recalled. "I called my agent that night and said, 'We need to put together a foundation to take this money and distribute it where I see fit.' Then I went out during the next game and was trying to think of ways to raise money. I was playing left field and coming up with ideas."
- Ian Kinsler Named AL Player Of The Week-I remember a few weeks ago I was talking to a friend about my fantasy baseball team I had just drafted. He asked me who I drafted to play second base and I told him Ian Kinsler. His reaction was kind of expected. "Who?"
- Ozzie Wants Chicagoans To Support Sammy-There's just one problem ,Oz, Sosa was a Cub. After White Sox favorites like Robin Ventura and Frank Thomas left via free agency, they were welcomed with open arms upon returning to the South Side. Hell, Frank Thomas was so touched by the standing ovation he received in his first game back as an Athletic, he hit two home runs. Then he heard the boos.
