The Cubs Are Hurting
The Cubs offense has been struggling enough as it is this season, and they just got some news that isn't going to help it get any better.
Aramis Ramirez will not be in the lineup when the Cubs face the Reds in an hour at Wrigley Field. He has a swollen wrist and will be undergoing some tests today to determine the cause of the injury. While the team doesn't know anything for sure yet, it's doubtful that Ramirez will play at all during this three game series with Cincy.
I'd like to give you all a link to an actual story about this, but as of now I cannot find one.
The Cubs will also be without Mark DeRosa today because his back is acting up on him. Lou Piniella said that DeRosa would only be used in an emergency situation, and this being the Cubs, it wouldn't shock me if that situation arose during today's game.
Oh, and Mark Prior is hurt again. So at least there are some constants in Wrigleyville right now.
