Bad Night for Elisha Nelson
The Jaguars beat the Giants 26-10 last night, but before we get
into anything important from the game, we want to take a moment to talk fashion. We think Jack Del Rio wearing the suit on the sidelines is something we'd like to see more of.
Coaches are to be respected, and it's hard to respect a guy who is usually dressed no better than you are while you're sitting at home drinking beer, eating pizza, and watching the game in your underwear.
I know the NFL doesn't usually allow it because of it's licensing agreement with Reebok, but c'mon fellas. What is a better image for the league?
Bill Parcells' sweaty man boobs in a Reebok polo?
Or anybody in a suit like the one Del Rio wore last night?
If there has to be a compromise in that the suits must be made by Reebok, fine, just let the coaches wear them.
As far as the game went, we just want to make a point of saying Eli Manning sucks. Nobody else is willing to say it, but we will. He just isn't that good.
The only difference between Eli Manning and Rex Grossman is that Eli has a brother named Peyton. That's it.
In fact, if you look at their numbers on the season, Grossman is actually better.
- Grossman: 2,214 yards-18TD-11INT-56.7Comp.%-83.5 rating
- Manning: 2,202 yards-16TD-13INT-57.8Comp.%-77.5 rating
Oh, and another key difference is the Bears are 9-1, and the Giants are now 6-4.
Eli looks just as horrible when he's under pressure as Rex ever has, but when he looks horrible it's just a lapse in concentration. When Rex does it, well, he's untrustworthy and you have to question whether the Bears can win with him. Nevermind the fact they're 9-1.
The Giants loss was a great one for the Bears, as they now hold a three game lead over everybody else in the NFC, with only 6 games left to play. As a result, the Bears can basically coast to homefield advantage in the playoffs.
